Dozens of Professors Join Academy’s Piano, Strings, and Wind Courses

A new line-up of professors for the Middle East Classical Music Academy (MECMA) has been confirmed, with a host of masters set to join the preliminary roster that was announced earlier this month.

For the piano department, legendary pedagogues Pavel Gililov (Germany/Austria), Dmitri Alexeev (UK) and Rudolf Buchbinder (Austria) shall now be joined by the internationally acclaimed Stepan Simonian (Germany), along with the celebrated Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy), and the famed South Korean professor Hae-Young Kim.

The strings department meanwhile, shall be bolstered by the addition of violinists Sergei Dogadin (Russia), Haik Kazazyan (Russia/Armenia), Sergey Khachatryan (Armenia), Graf Mourja (Hungary/Russia), Svetlana Makarova (Russia/Switzerland), and Pavel Vernikov (Israel/Switzerland), as well as cellist Alexander Ramm (Russia).

Finally, the recently-announced winds school has also received its first confirmed professors, with Russian clarinettist Sergey Eletskiy and flautist Maxim Rubstov (Russia) being the first two artists to officially declare their participation in the event.

More professors for all three schools are set to be announced in the coming days, so make sure to keep an eye on the official website here for more information.

The Middle East Classical Music Academy is being co-organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture and SAMIT Event Group, and will be taking place in Dubai from the 4th to the 23rd of September 2021.
